April 2, 2019 - Munich

We arrived our hotel at about 10:30 a.m.  We found out that we had a nice Junior Suite, but it wasn't ready yet.  So we all decided to go get some lunch.  We met another Hunter Douglas Regional Sales Manager, Patrick and his wife Mary.  We headed to the marienplatz.  We see a restaurant where we can eat outside and in doing so we will have a front row seat to the Glockenspiel.

I figure this may be my only meal for the day, since I'm pretty sure I'm going to fall asleep at some point.  I order a cheeseburger and fries and a "still" water.  But since in Germany I also ask for an Apple Strudel.  My friend ordered a meatloaf pretzel which sounded good.  This is what she received.  She said it was good.  But I just thought, "Oh that's interesting.  It's spam and a pretzel."

My son was quite aware of the menu and he pointed out that the "Digestivs" were on this menu.  Could that have been what they were referring to on the plane.  Indeed it was.

At 1:00 p.m. the clocks started chiming.  It was pretty to watch.  It went on for a good 15 minutes.

We walked around some and here are some photos of that.

Apparently our hotel is one that Michael Jackson had stayed out several times.  Upon his passing, his German fans made a memorial out of the statue of Roland de Lattre.  It has been left up to this day.

We then went into our hotel where unfortunately I stayed because I fell asleep.  and now it is midnight and I am awake.  Uh oh.  It will all be good.
