Wednesday, April 3, 2019 - Stuttgart, Germany

I wrote about the fun of train travel in my Instagram and Facebook post, so let's go right into the Mercedes Benz museum.  After we got off our super fast train, it took some doing, but we figured out where to go to catch the train to Neckar Park (which is where the museum was).  HINT:  It's not the platform that says Neckar Park.

Is it this way?  Is it that way?
 Awe, we made it!

We entered the museum and started by eating lunch.  I show you these pictures because our server wanted to make sure that I knew that the potatoes were in the shape of a heart.  He said we cook with love.  Also Ben thought the name of the beer was humorous.  So here are those two photos.

See the heart?

Dinkel Acker
The museum itself is 7 levels.  You start at the top and work your way down.  They give you a headset for a self-guided tour.  The displays with a wi-fi type symbol all had information we could access by pointing our receiver at the symbol.  It was quite interesting.  The first thing you see is this.

I do believe in the horse.  The automobile is no more than a
transitory phenomenon.  Emperor Wilhelm II (attributed to.)
Well, the Emperor was quite wrong.  I was thinking about this generation (my grandfather's generation and my parents' generation.  Things advanced rapidly.  From the horse to the automobile, to the airplane.   It was quite phenomenal.

1886 Daimler Motorkutsche
Was the world's first four-wheeled automobile

1886 Benz Patent Motorwagon
The worlds first gasoline engined automobile
1892 Daimler Motor-Feuerspritze
A motorized fire fighting pump was one of the first of its kind with a
gasoline engine.  This did the job of 32 firemen.
1888 - Wolfert's motorized airship
And things just kept progressing and the people adapted.  I think of this a lot in light of technology and all it's advancements.  How Amazon uses drones to send their merchandise (or something like that) replacing people.  But it also gives me hope for the future.

I picture my children looking back one day and going to a technology museum and saying "Oh remember those cell phones?"  I want my kids to be the ones that are thinking ahead for the future and coming up with what's next!

Anyway, it's getting late.  I'll put a few car shots in here.  I have tons more (but my husband is sleeping and my son is eating his 4th meal) but I need to get to bed.  Our train ride home went great.  We ate supper at the hotel and then we checked out the spa and the pool.

Thanks for reading along with me and for always inspiring me to be my best.
